Day Tour to Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo from Port Said
Port Said tour to Memphis and Saqqara We will pick you up from Port Said in a private air-conditioned vehicle. To start your amazing tour, we will take you to the following place:
Saqqara pyramid:
We will move on to Saqqara, a group of pyramids that, like Giza, are part of the Memphis necropolis. We will see one of the first pyramids, which was used as a model for all the pyramids that came after it. Imhotep, Egypt’s most famous architect, built the Step Pyramid of Djoser for Pharaoh Djoser around 2650 BC. It has a rectangular base and is about 60 meters high. It was part of a ceremonial complex built for Djoser.
lunch
At the end of our trip to the Pyramids of Giza, we will take a break to eat and rest. Egyptian food will be served in a restaurant for lunch (drinks not included).
Ancient Memphis, Egypt:
The last part of our trip will begin after leaving Saqqara. We will go to Memphis, which was the capital of the ancient empire from 3100 BC to 2040 BC, where all the pharaohs of the empire were crowned.
Narmer, who is believed to have been the first pharaoh, is said to have started Memphis. The city is located in the Nile Delta, located between Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt, which are two parts of the country. In 1820, a colossal statue of Ramesses II, who ruled Egypt from 1279 to 1213 BC and was one of the most famous pharaohs, was found in the Great Temple of Ptah near Memphis.
This giant is more than 11 meters high and weighs more than 80 tons. It is made of pink granite. It was once in the center of Cairo, but erosion has caused great damage to it. For its protection, it was taken to Memphis and displayed in a covered area.
We will take you back to Port Said after the tour.
