How To Get To Egypt ?

Egypt is one of the world’s most significant countries that most people worldwide would love to visit, as it has a little bit of everything. Depending on your country, you may need to obtain a visa before or after you arrive in Egypt. Read this guide to learn more about the different types of tickets, how to get a permit to enter Egypt, and more.

Ways to obtain a visa to enter Egypt

  • People who want to visit Egypt must have a sound passport for at least six months after arriving.
  • Everyone from outside of Egypt needs a visa to get in.
  • You can get an Egyptian tourist visa at any embassy or consulate worldwide.

The different kinds of Egypt visas are:

In general, Egypt has three types of visas for entering the country:

  • An entry visa is good for one month and is given to anyone who is not an Egyptian citizen and enters the country without a permit.
  • Transit visa: This is given to non-Egyptians who will only be in the country for a short time.
  • Tourist visas are good for up to three months and can be used once or more than once.

Most tourists to Egypt get their visas from an Egyptian embassy or consulate before they arrive in the country.

Can I use my tourist visa for longer than it says I can?

You can get an extended tourist visa, but you must go to the Mogamma building in the Tahrir Complex in Cairo or other official institutions in other cities. There is a grace period of two weeks after your visa expires, during which you can buy an extension for free.

How do I plan a trip to Egypt?

1- Coming by plane:

Egypt can be reached by car, but most people take a plane. There are flights from London, New York, and many other major cities worldwide to Cairo International Airport. This means that you can go to Egypt from almost anywhere in the world as long as you can get to one of these hubs. Luxor International Airport, Sharm El Shiekh Airport, and Hurghada Airport are where the international planes land, making it easy to get to coastal cities. More flights to Egypt (from November to March) make it easier to find cheap flights.

Tourist visas for one month can be easily bought at any of Egypt’s international airports by people from the countries below. The key will cost you $15, and people from other countries need visas from an Egyptian embassy or consulate before going to Egypt.

Which terminal you land at depends on which airline you are flying. Most flights from Western Europe and the United States use terminal number 3, which in Egypt is also called the “New Terminal.” Most Egypt Air, Arab, African, and Eastern European planes, on the other hand, land at terminal 1.

Suppose you want to get a visa in Egypt. In that case, you must have a passport from Australia, Canada, Croatia, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Macedonia, the Republic of Korea, Serbia, Ukraine, or the Russian Federation.

2- Arriving Overland:

Passengers from Israel can enter Egypt by land via the border crossing at Eliat/Taba in the Sinai Peninsula (except on Eid al-Adha and Yom Kippur) (except Eid al-Adha or Yom Kippur). The Rafah border crossing in Gaza is now closed.

At the Elyot/Taba border crossing, travelers from any country can purchase a visa for some of Egypt only; However, if you have a passport from one of the countries listed above, you can buy a Sinai-only key that allows you to travel within the Sinai Peninsula but not through the Suez Canal.

Suppose you want to visit other parts of Egypt or have a passport from a country not mentioned above. You must obtain an entry visa from an Egyptian embassy or consulate; in Eilat, there is a consulate of Egypt.

3-If you come by sea:

Although Egypt has ports on both the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, fewer people enter the country by boat or ferry now that airfare is so cheap and holiday packages include flights. Only when people take a boat from Aqaba, Jordan, to Nuweiba, Sinai, does this change. There are no longer direct boats from Greece or Cyprus to Egyptian ports on the Mediterranean.

Most sea routes to Egypt are no longer operational, and no more ferries go from Italy, Cyprus, or Greece. But many cruise ships pass through the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, stopping at various ports in Egypt and Jordan.

We are happy to set up private tours for cruise travelers who only have a short time to spend in Egypt or Jordan but do not wish to use the cruise company’s terms. Port officials will give each passenger a visa upon arrival, after which the tours will continue. Please look at the Shore Excursions section of our website if you would like to book a cruise that stops in Egypt.

The Arab Bridge Shipping Company operates two ferries every day. The fastest one costs $75 and gets you to the border in just an hour. The slower one costs $65, but it’s hard to know when it will leave and how long it will take. You can also bring your car on the boat for an additional fee.

Upon their arrival in Nuweiba, people from the same countries can obtain a full one-month visa for $15. For two weeks, Sinai-only visas are free. People from other countries must get a permit before going to Jordan; otherwise, they can’t get on the boat.
